چکیده

Abstract Background Rice forms a significant portion of food consumed in most household worldwide. production has been hampered by soil factors such as ferruginousity which limited phosphorus availability; an important mineral component for the growth and yield rice. The presence phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (PSB) soils reported to enhance phosphate availability. In view this, present study employed three species (BCAC2, EMBF2 BCAF1) that were previously isolated proved P solubilization capacities inocula investigate response rice germinants vitro setup. isolates first identified using 16S rRNA gene sequencing then applied inoculum. inolula prepared concentrations (10, 7.5 5.0 ml) following McFarland standard. Viable (var. FARO 44) seeds sown petri dishes inoculated with at different concentrations. setup was studied 28 days. Results as: isolate BCAC2= Bacillus cereus strain GGBSU-1, BCAF1= Proteus mirabilis TL14-1 EMBF2= Klebsiella variicola AUH-KAM-9. Significant improvement germination, morphology, physiology biomass parameters bacteria-inoculated setups observed compared control. Germination percentage after 4 days 100 % 65% control (NiS). Similarly, inoculation test enhanced water-use efficiency over 40%. seedlings GGBSU-1 (BiS) showed no signs chlorosis necrosis throughout period against those (PiS) AUH-KAM-9 (KiS). increase chlorophyll-a, chlorophyll-b alpha amylase BiS NiS. Conclusion Inoculating media significantly improved plant. higher due more properties observed.

Correlation Studies in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)

Seventy genotypes of rice (Oryza sativa L.) were evaluated during Kharif 2012 to study the nature and extent of correlation among yield and yield attributing characters, days to 50 per cent flowering, days to maturity, number of effective tillers per plant, plant height, panicle length, number of grains per panicle, 1000-grain weight, grain yield per plant, kernel length, kernel breadth and L/B...

Influence of cooking on anthocyanins in black rice (Oryza sativa L. japonica var. SBR).

The composition and thermal stability of anthocyanins in black rice (Oryza sativa L. japonica var. SBR) produced in California were investigated. Six anthocyanin pigments were identified and quantified by high performance liquid chromatography using photo diode-array detection (HPLC-PDA) and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry [LC-(ESI)MS/MS]. The predominant anthocyanins are cyanidin-3-g...

The extent of linkage disequilibrium in rice (Oryza sativa L.).

Despite its status as one of the world's major crops, linkage disequilibrium (LD) patterns have not been systematically characterized across the genome of Asian rice (Oryza sativa). Such information is critical to fully exploit the genome sequence for mapping complex traits using association techniques. Here we characterize LD in five 500-kb regions of the rice genome in three major cultivated ...

Isolation and molecular characterization of the COP1 gene homolog from rice, Oryza sativa L. subsp. Indica var. Pusa Basmati 1.

The COP1 (CONSTITUTIVE PHOTOMORPHOGENIC 1) gene has been identified earlier from dicot species namely Arabidopsis, tomato and pea. The protein encoded by this gene acts as a molecular switch that negatively regulates the transition from the skotomorphogenic to the photomorphogenic mode of plant development. We have isolated and characterized the COP1 homolog from a monocot species, i.e. rice (v...

In vitro screening for salt tolerance in Rice ( Oryza sativa )

An experiment was conducted to study the performance of rice genotypes for salt tolerance under in vitro condition. Seven genotypes include salt tolerant (Pokkali, CSR 10, TRY 1 and TRY2), moderately tolerant to salt (White Ponni and BPT 5204) and susceptible (IR 29) were used for this study through embryo culture technique. Callus was initiated in MS medium + 2 mgl 2,4D + 0.5 mgl Kin and diffe...
